New Livingston signing Brian Kerr say’s that he'll put Newcastle out of his mind and focus and help the Lions after agreeing a six-month loan at Almondvale. The 21-year-old, who has already won a Scotland cap, has spent six years at St James’ Park, learning all he could from world class players like Alan Shearer.

Kerr insists he is hoping to impress at Almondvale, and show Sir Bobby just what he is missing.

He said: "I've signed until the next transfer window and if things go alright we can extend it to the end of the season. "I've got to be playing games and I've come here to do that and to get a bit of experience. "My hope is I can play regularly and prove to myself and other people that I'm good enough to play week- in, week-out at this level.

"I'm still hopeful I can go back and play for Newcastle but that's out of mind for the next six months. I just want to concentrate on what happens here."

A few clubs were interested in Kerr this summer but the Motherwell- born playmaker is delighted to be joining the Lothians finest club.

He added: "To me Livingston are one of the best sides outside of the Old Firm. The way they play football suits my game and I'm delighted to be here."

It doesn’t look as if Kerr will be in the starting line up for today’s match against Partick.
