Paper Lace front man Phillip Wright (22) has blasted claims by 70's pop rival Bo (Bo) Anderson that 'The Heywoods' are Livi's most well kent supporters.

"Look, let me be frank here" fumed the Nottingham born popster. "We are often down at the 'vale cheering on 'The Lions' as we all now live in a beat up old caravan in the Bathgate hills, so I'd say that if anyone famous is to be found down at Almondvale Stadium, it'd be me and my fellow 'Lacers'"!

"The whole things just nonsense!" raged Phil. Everybody knows that it was us that sold more copies of 'Billy don't be a hero' and for them to claim otherwise is almost tantamount to a serious overstepping of the mark. But that's the yanks for you, eh?" he added.

Carlo Santanna (55), Paper Lace percussionist, was obviously still fuming as he pointed out "We've been on Top Of The Pops and everything! Anyone who has a pair of ears will tell you that we did a far better cover of 'Billy don't be a hero'.

It seems that this 'battle of the bands' is now set to continue through Christmas and beyond as there appears to be no amicable solution to this bitter 'war of words'.

Here at The Daily Tabloid we are giving you the chance to listen to the Paper Lace effort to allow you to make up your own mind. Simply click on our exclusive photo above, listen, then decide.
