Mon 17th - Daily Tabloid - Lionheart 'Chief' goads Livi support

Last updated : 20 January 2005 By Ray Jin
A sad day indeed.
Today is a sad day for all Livingston supporters. Here at The Daily Tabloid we have taken the unprecedented decision to headline our page with a blackend logo to mark the sorry state of affairs that the relationship between the club and its fans has become.

So called Club 'saviour' and man of wealth, Pearse Flynne took time to answer critics of his boards and players 'no show' at last Saturday nights £5 a head 'LFC versus Supporters' Karaoke Challenge, not by apologising for such remiss behaviour, but by mocking them!

On the Livilions.co.uk messageboards, Pearse ignored fans requests for reasons for last Saturday nights snub and goaded them by questioning how many of them will be in attendance at this Saturday evenings £50 a pop Burns Supper in aid of the Youth Development fund.

His petulant remark can surely only deepen the opening rift in the relationship between the club and its 'supporters'? Quite frankly it was ill advised and at best immature.

After yet another defeat at the weekend and the team looking increasingly comfortable at the bottom of the league ahead of a vital clash with old rivals Inverness Caley Thistle, this is not the time for childish outbursts from a man who should clearly know better!

Instead of provoking an already dispirited support, The Daily Tabloid would urge that he turn his attention instead to the fact that with 21 games played, The Lions have a goal difference of -17 and have only gained 16 points since August.

It's not good enough Pearse and the buck stops with you.
