Murieston Utd U11s, yesterday
Livi gaffer Vincent Van Gough was in a justifiably jubilant mood this evening following his side’s 1-0 thrashing of table-topping high-fliers Alloa Athletic.

Speaking exclusively to the Daily Tabloid after the game, Van Gough told our reporter “we may be bottom of the table and Alloa at the top, but that didn’t stop my boys giving them a sound thrashing!” However, Van Gough was less candid when it was pointed out that Alloa’s table is actually two below Livingston’s. “Minor details! Minor details!” he raged before regaining his composure.

Van Gough then outlined his strategy for his side’s fourth round tie. “Using my substantial contacts in Scotland and the USA, I’ve secured a friendly against top-notch opposition to get the boys ready” he said. And when asked who the opposition will be, Van Gough could barely disguise his pleasure in telling us. “Murieston United Under 11s!” he beamed. “I did try for Hutchison Vale under 14s, but they’ve a league game in Fife that day. However, Murieston are top of their league just now, so it should be a stern test to ensure my boys are ready for whoever comes out that plastic ball.”

Assistant coach John Knox also advised that Livi had plans for other friendlies to ensure the team are ready to win the expected relegation battle. Some of the giants mentioned were Clachnacuddin (reserves) from the Highland League, a Royal British Legion D-Day Veterans XI, and The Tower pub team from
West Lothian’s Sunday Morning League.

As soon as matters are finalised, you’ll read it FIRST in the Daily Tabloid.
