The Sunday Tabloid office was last night bombarded by calls from irate fans calling for the BBC to be investigated, following its coverage of the Italy v Scotland game.

Furious viewers voiced their displeasure via our Tabloid Hotline (07979 863811) following the Beeb’s controversial decision to use ex-Dundee United manager Ian McCall as co-commentator. Here are just a few of the comments we received:

“This is a disgrace! Exploiting an innocent chimpanzee like that, shocking” Kim, Airdie

“An outrage! Animal rights should blow the BBC up!” Morag, Dalkeith

“I couldn’t make out a word it said. It was just monkey noises” Adrian, Mid Calder

“I have nothing relevant to say but I just feel the need” Mr McKenna, Livingston

“I hate everybody, everything and everywhere!” David, Winchburgh

“We’re all God’s children, even chimpanzees. Love thy neighbour and fellow simian” Pat, Livingston

“Told you I was right…” C Darwin, Shrewsbury

So what do YOU have to say about it? Was the BBC correct to use a chimpanzee to commentate upon a game, or is this political correctness gone mad? Let us know using our special Tabloid Hotline on 07979 863811 now.
