Supporters Views - The relegation battle

Celtic for the title? Rangers to do a clean sweep domestically? Do we disagree? Probably not. But the other end of the table, the Media had already built Saturdays game against Caley up to be a battle of the two sides most fancied to be relegated. Of coarse, no one ever gives the new comers to the SPL a hope in hell of staying in the top flight. And Livi, well they SHOULD be a poor team; after all we lost Davie Hay and very nearly all our coaching staff plus a barrow load of our most consistent players from that magnificent CIS cup winning team.

We are not saying that Livi will not be in that relegation zone come the seasons end, we may finish in the top six, and even Europe perhaps.

Caley may return to the first division, who knows but football is a funny old game as it’s always said and you never know what surprises are round the corner as stranger things have happened.

So to the game itself, a convincing win for Livi, running out 3-0 winners over the visitors who in my opinion just looked nervous and on edge. The highlanders will improve through the campaign and pull off a few shocks I’m sure.

The small band of Caley fans who made the long journey also must get praise for the support they gave their side, battering the drum and singing galore from start to finish.

So hopefully the ex-Old Firm pundits will be eating their words come the seasons end, as these clowns only see Rangers and Celtic the only two teams worth shouting about in Scottish football, which is nonsense.
