News has reached Tabloid Towers that Celtic manager, the Divine St Martin O’Neill (peace be upon Him) was so impressed with the performance of his new trialist last night, that he’s considering making an immediate signing.

Even an ardent pro-Livi publication like the Tabloid has been forced to admit Referee Mike McCurry played out of his skin last night, giving virtually every 50/50 and dodgy decision in favour of his beloved ‘Tic. And St Martin (peace be upon Him) was singing McCurry’s praises at his post-match interview. “I, I have to praise the performance of the referee” he gloated to our reporter. “Normally we have to endure Masonic conspiracies and only get most of the dubious decisions. But McCurry was superb, even awarding Livi’s free-kicks to us too. I really see a Celtic legend in the making here, and I’ll be contacting his agent in the morning to make enquiries.”

Meanwhile, we tracked McCurry down to his 3rd floor tenement flat overlooking Celtic Park yesterday, however he was less keen than St Martin (peace be upon Him) to discuss his performance last night. Speaking to us through the front door intercom, all he would say is “I have nothing to say, you best talk to the SFA. Hail! Hail! Up the ‘RA!”

St Martin (peace be upon Him) was unavailable for further comment last night as he was on a vital business trip to Rome.
