As we all know, there’s been very little in the way of Afternoon Delight on a Saturday down Almondvale way lately. However, if Pierce Brosnan’s sensational new plan gets the go-ahead, next week’s crunch match with Dunfermline Athletic could change all of that.

In an EXCLUSIVE scoop, the Daily Tabloid can reveal that Brosnan has been in negotiations with 70’s one-hit-wonders the ‘Starland Vocal Band’ to have them perform their famous hit Afternoon Delight at half time. For the benefit of our younger readers, this song was a smash for the SVB in 1976 where it peaked at No 18, beaten to the top spot by the musical legends the likes of Abba, Bay City Rollers and The Worzels.

Brosnan has been a fan of the song ever since he received some afternoon delight of his own from Russian double agent Ivana Sukyakokov back in the days of the Cold War. The Tabloid understands his master plan is to have the feelgood factor the song is likely to generate transmitted to the team and fans, thus ensuring a Livi win.

Yazz at Firhill, last season
However, we can only hope this plan is more successful than ex-Partick boss’ John Lambie’s hiring of Yazz and the Plastic Population last season to perform “The Only Way Is Up” the weekend they lost and were relegated to Division 1.

And in a separate but coincidental move, relatives of Chairman Tony Kinder-Egg’s now famous “troosahs” are likely to make an appearance on the 70’s group during the performance as a Welcome Home tribute to the time-travelling garments.
