Tue 22nd - Daily Tabloid - Who is the new face at Almondvale

Kinder-Egg's great grandson, yesterday
The Daily Tabloid office has recently been swamped with calls from concerned fans regarding the mysterious blue Police Box which seems to have appeared in the south west corner of Almondvale Stadium.

In the days before police radio, officers would contact their station by means of telephones situated in blue Police Boxes scattered around town. But these have become largely obsolete due to advancing technology, and so the sudden appearance of such a box within the stadium has raised a few quizzical eyebrows.

Being the fans’ champion, the Tabloid despatched a reporter to investigate, but when he arrived at Almondvale the box was nowhere to be seen. He was about to leave when it suddenly reappeared amidst a cacophony of electronic grinding sounds and a flashing blue light atop the box. No sooner had our stunned reporter witnessed this, than a man with wild curly hair, wide-brimmed hat and long patchwork scarf then appeared from inside the box, accompanied by a young lady and a robotic dog.

“Excuse me, my good man”
he boomed at our shocked scribe, “but can you tell me where I can find Tony Kinder-Egg? This IS the 21st century, isn’t it? Our shell-shocked man was only able to utter a stilted “y..yes” before the stranger continued. “I’m The Doctor, and Tony’s my great grandfather. I’ve travelled through time and space in order to return these…” he said, holding out an Asda carrier bag. “It’s his favourite pair of white spandex flares. I must have mistaken them for a Cyberman the last time I visited this planet. K9 here’s been itching to play with them, so I thought I best return the things before he does any damage. Be a good fellow and pass them on would you? I’ve some Daleks to fight, and need to regenirate into Christopher Ecclestone first.”

With that, The Doctor threw the bag towards our man, then he, the woman and robot dog disappeared back inside the Police Box, which then vanished into thin air accompanied once more by the odd sound effect and blue flashing light. Yet our intrepid reporter was professional enough to note everything before collecting the bag and reuniting Mr Kinder-Egg with his beloved trousers.

The "Troosahs", last night
A highly emotional Kinder-Egg last night called Tabloid Towers to thank us. “Man, I’m reet happy!” he wept, “I thought me troosahs had gone forevah, burram delighted to have them back. I’ve a canny social to attend this weekend in Pumpherston, so I’ll be the bell o the baal man! Cheeahz Tabloid, you’re a reet good bunch the lorra ya!”

So there you have it: the Daily Tabloid – always there when you need us.
