Falkirk V Livingston match preview

Last updated : 29 October 2005 By Dov

Livingston manager Paul "Lambo" Lambert hopes his side's dramatic midweek draw with Rangers marks the beginning of a productive run in the Bank of Scotland Premier League.

The Lions are still without a win (but that will change today!!) to their name following the first 12 matches but they have taken great confidence from their fighting performance against the reigning champions ahead of Saturday's clash at Falkirk.

Lambert, whose team have propped up the division since day one of the season, said: "You are looking for that result to give you a bit of a springboard to go on and try and win matches but every game is totally different."

Depending on results elsewhere, Livingston could also leap-frog Dunfermline at the basement with just one point separating the two sides.

Lambert added: "It's easy to lift your game against Rangers because it's a full house and no-one expects you to get anything from it.

"If you can do it against Rangers, it's up to you to carry it on to the next game.

"No disrespect to other teams but Rangers and Celtic are expected to win things every single year. The Falkirk game is a big test again and it's going to be hard.

"Falkirk have done great, there is no doubt about it. It's a hard game but it always was going to be a hard game. We will go there and give it a go and see if we can win it."

Meanwhile, Livingston's Belgian defender Harald Pinxten insists he has no regrets about leaving his homeland for Scotland despite the club's poor start to the campaign.

He said: "It's a big step to come out of your own country. Things are going well now, we have played very well in the last couple of weeks and I think everything has turned. I never think about the past, I just think about the future.

Recent respective form guides

Falkirk's poor home run has seen them win just 1 and draw 2 of the last six. While Bairns have scored 6, a worringly large 11 have been leaked at the other end.

Livingston's away form is none too clever either, accumulating just 1 victory and 1 draw from their last six played. Livi have conceded 10 goals in these games, and only hit 2 in reply.

Falkirk are hovering perilously just above the relegation zone, with 12 points from 12 matches. Livingston find themselves stuck right at the bottom of the division. Their 12 games have yielded only 4 points.
