The Livi Ultras Kilmarnock match preview

Last updated : 07 March 2005 By Dove
Livingston will be boosted by the return of Oscar Rubio for the Bank of Scotland Premier League visit of Kilmarnock.

The Spanish defender missed the Tennent's Scottish Cup quarter-final defeat at Hearts through suspension.

Livi manager Richard Gough has no other injury concerns ahead of the clash.

Kilmarnock boss Jim Jefferies will wait until the last minute before deciding whether to play Alan Combe and Garry Hay.

The goalkeeper and defender were injured in the 2-1 defeat to Rangers at Ibrox on Saturday.

But both are improving with every day and Jefferies is optimistic they will be declare themselves fit.

History of the Livingston v Kilmarnock fixture

Livingston prepare to entertain Kilmarnock at Almondvale Stadium on Wednesday evening, looking to improve on a dire past record against their opponents. It does not make pleasant reading, winning 31.58 of the games played between the two.

The most recent encounter between these two sides at Almondvale Stadium was earlier this season, as the visitors ran out cosy 0-2 winners in a Scottish Premier match.

Recent respective form guides

Livingston's home form is poor, winning just 2 of the last six, and losing the other 4. While Livi have scored 5, a worringly large 11 have been leaked at the other end.

Kilmarnock's away form is none too clever either, accumulating just 1 victory and 1 draw from their last six played. While the Killie have hit 5 goals, 13 have hit the back of the wrong net.

Livingston find themselves stuck right at the bottom of the division. Their 26 games have yielded only 16 points. Kilmarnock see themselves just below half way in the Bank of Scotland Scottish Premier, showing a record of 32 points from their 27 games played so far,

Ultras prediction ...

Despite a shockingly poor run of form where the Lions have conceded defeat in their last seven SPL games, a spirited 2nd half display in the recent Scottish Cup Quarter Final at Tynecastle versus Hearts, although ultimately not enough to stop them from dropping out of the tournament, will have given the team, and it's supporters a little boost of confidence for the campaign ahead.

We desperately want to predict a HOME win, but feel a score draw is more likely.
