KILMARNOCK V LIVINGSTON
Livingston travel to Rugby Park to play the “weedgy wannibees” on Saturday fresh from a 2-0 stuffing from Dundee United last weekend. Livingston’s only major doubt is David Fernandez who has been struggling with a hamstring injury for the last couple of weeks. He has trained, but it looks as if the magician won’t make it, much to the disappointment of the Livingston faithful.

Lee Makel and David McNamee look as if they are going to make it after suffering from flu all week, and Alan Main will be back in the dugout being reserve to Livi goalie Roddy McKenzie after he also shook off his flu symptoms. The rest of the side looks ok, but defensively, the Lions are starting to let themselves down, and could find this one as tough as the Dundee United match last weekend. I keep on going on about it, but Stuart Lovell isn’t fit, and the rest of the midfield have carried him for the last few games, and it’s about time Lovell was given a wee rest to get him back into line.

So do Livingston usually so we’ll at Rugby Park?

The first league match that Livingston played at Rugby Park saw them win, and win with style. The Lions ran out comfortable 5-1 winners, and all goals were scored by Livingston players. Santini scored an own goal early on to give Killie the lead, but the Lions clawed their way back into the match, and Davide Xuasa scored the pick of the goals when he grabbed the Lions fourth.

Are we likely to win this time?

It will be a tough one for the Lions to win, but I see no reason why we can’t sneak a wee one or two nil victory at Rugby Park. Killie usually play with a lot of confidence when they play at home, but they are mostly a better side when they are on the road, and if Livingston manage to get an early goal, then maybe the Killie supporters will turn on their side, and that could work in Livingston’s advantage.

Any Players I should watch out for?

Stevie Fulton is a player that can turn any match around. Fulton who’s nickname is “sumo” doesn’t really deserve that tag, as he’s lost a lot of weight over the last couple of season’s, and is probably a match for any midfielder in the SPL outside the Old Firm. Steven Murray is another player that Livi will need to keep a close eye on. The tricky winger will work non-stop for 90 minutes during a match, and the Livingston players will have to be on their toes if they are to stop this youngster from inflicting some damage to the Livi goal. Former Rangers player Gary Mcswegan hasn’t quite fitted in at Kilmarnock after Jim Jeffries signed him for the second time in his career, but he only needs a half-chance to score, and he is another player that Livingston will need to watch.

Prediction?

A tough on to call. Livingston’s form on the road has been not to bad this season, but they have shown that the back line isn’t as watertight as it should be. Kilmarnock should be the favourites going into this match as they are at home, but I feel that Livingston are the better side and it will show on the day. Kilmarnock will get on the score sheet, but the Lions will respond by scoring 3.

The Stadium

Rugby Park is an all seater stadium with a capacity of 18128. It is an impressive modern stadium. Rugby Park has seen European football in recent years and few can dispute the fact that an ambitious club with such an impressive venue deserves any less. Livingston supporters will be seated in the Moffat Stand, where they will find the impressive Killie Pies along with some other great food and beverages in the serveries below.

Rugby Park is signed as 'Football Traffic' from the main A77 Glasgow -Ayr dual carriageway and on internal roads within the town.
