Livingston entertain the dark blues of Dundee tomorrow knowing the Dens Park men are without many of their top stars after they were released from their contract following the clubs move into administration earlier on in the week. The players released were Craig Burley, Fabian Caballero, Juan Sara, Fabrizio Ravanelli, Beto Carranza, Mark Robertson, Barry Forbes, Jamie Langfield, Matt Engele, Kris Brash, Colin Boylan, Giorgi Nemsadze, Vander Deyl, Gavin Beith, Tom Cowan. Dundee have kept some decent players in Gavin Ray, and Nacho Novo, and have opted to hang onto blunder boy Lee Wilkie in the hope that someone snaps him up.

Dundee will have to bring in some youngsters into their squad, and a prediction of what side they will play tomorrow and what formation at this point is impossible to make.

Meanwhile, Livingston will look to keep their recent good run going, and David Fernandez is looking to score his first goal for the Lions following his loan deal from Celtic. He said: "It's not something that I think about, because if I did I might start worrying. It could make me selfish and that wouldn't be good for the team. If I score it's a bonus, but as long as we get victories and points I'm not bothered if I score or not.

"I've never scored that many goals in my career and I think the most was seven in my first season with Livingston in the SPL. I'm happy to keep making chances and I'm quite proud if I can set up Derek Lilley for more goals. The first goal is the hardest to score and if I can get one, it will be easier to get more."

And Fernandez added

He added: "I've played really well in the last few games and I'm pleased with my form. If the team can keep playing the same way, we'll lift ourselves up the table. We have a great team and if we can keep defending well we have the chance to do something great.

"We had a bad start and that's the reason we're not in third or fourth spot just now and I think that we are stronger than our first SPL season."

Fernando Pasquinelli looks set to start the match on the bench, that’s if he can shake of a knee injury he picked up in an under 21 match during the week, and if he can return, the Lions will be near enough back to full strength. The only notable absentee is midfielder Brian Kerr, who unfortunately broke his leg during last weeks battling draw away to Motherwell.

Another boost to the Lions will see Jamie McAllister (back from injury) and David McNamee (was suspended) return to the squad and Alan Main returns after a long absence due to a neck injury.

If the Lions are to win this one, they will have to get stuck right into Dundee. If they hold back, Dundee’s youngsters, along with the more experienced players such as Ray and Novo will grow in confidence and could produce a shock scoreline.

We cannot see that happening, and are predicting that Livi run out 2-0 winners.
