Livingston V Dunfermline Fanzine Prediction

The mighty Livi take on the Pars this Saturday looking to build on last weeks terrific performance at Pittodrie where they beat the inbreeds quite magnificently.

Big “Two Faced” Leishman will back at Almondvale for the first time since he jumped ship a few months ago, and I’m sure he’ll be out on the pitch attention seeking before the match, but if your thinking about clapping him, don’t do it, in fact, join me in booing the man who has got a temper like Hitler, trust me, I’ve seen the many faces of Jim.

Livingston will be missing Alan Main who has been on the sidelines for the past 4 weeks after he injured his neck, but former Hearts goalie Roddy McKenzie has shown his worth and would still be keeping his place in between the sticks even if Main was fit.

Defensive wise, the Lions are looking pretty solid at the moment. Marvin Andrews is fit following his miracle arrangement with God but Rubio still has a niggling groin injury, but it looks as if he is going to be fit for the match. The Lions should start with the same defensive line up that beat Aberdeen last week, Rubio, Andrews, Dorado, and the only change could see Jamie McAllister moving back from the midfield position he played last week and he will be a direct replacement for David McNamee who injured his knee in the opening 15 minutes during last Saturday’s Pittodrie massacre.

The Midfield line up should be pretty much the same, minus McAllister. Goal hero Quino along with Lee Makel and on-load midfielder Brian Kerr of Newcastle should all start, and I believe Maximo should leave it like that and go for a 4-3-3 formation and attack right from the start.

The attackers would see Fernandez, Pasquinelli and Lilley all play up front, and I could see a lot of great attacking play if this were to happen. Fernandez could hug the touchline as he’s done many times before with Pasquinelli annoying and frustrating the Pars defenders along with Lilley getting right into them, a right old good recipe for getting a result in our books.

Dunfermline have had a decent enough start to the season, drawing with Celtic in the opening match of the season and beating a very good Dundee side 2-0 away in the second match of the season, a great start by the Pars and they followed that up by Beating Aberdeen 2-1 at Pitodrie.

The next few games seen Leish’s new men drop points thanks to a defeat away at Tynecastle and a 4-0 hammering at Ibrox followed by a 0-0 draw with Hibs played at their brand new Luton style Astroturf which has caused so much controversy. Their next match saw them get back to winning ways beating Partick 2-1 at Home.

Dunfermline supporters seem to be confident about this one but know it will be a hard match. Here’s a quote from one of their websites-

“A difficult match will be on the cards, but Livingston will at least be more attack minded that Partick were last week, hopefully allowing Dunfermline’s wide men to have more match winning performances. Kilgannon, Grondin and Bullen will all be looking to take their good performance on the road and again supply the ammunition for Craig Brewster and Stevie Crawford.

Both strikers have had their share of goals against Livi, Saturday would be a great time for them to keep that record going! “
