Livingston V Morton at Almondvale Stadium - Match Preview

Livingston have midfielder Kevin McCann suspended when they host Morton following his red card in last Saturday's 2-1 success at Hamilton which stretched their unbeaten run to three games.

Long-term injury victims Jason Talbot and Paul Watson remain out for a game the sixth-placed Lions reckon will be a test of their abilities to compete against promotion-chasing sides.

First-team coach Gareth Evans said: "This is a great game for us to measure our ambitions in. They are a good side, who have a lot of experienced players in their ranks, and who are on a fantastic run just now.

"We go into the game as underdogs but we have the chance to show we can compete against teams higher up in the league."

Morton will give experienced midfielder Martin Hardie until close to kick-off to prove his fitness after he picked up a rib injury.

Defender Craig Reid is included despite having stitches inserted into a head wound with only striker Peter MacDonald missing out due to a foot problem.

Manager Allan Moore said: "Livingston like to keep the ball for long spells and pass it around you so our job is to stop them doing that, especially when they start moving the ball forward from midfield.

"We have put down good markers about our title ambitions recently by beating Partick and then drawing with Dunfermline. Winning a tricky away game like this one would send out another message about Morton being regarded as challengers."
