Livingston V Motherwell 16/08/2003

This week we play the embarrassment of Scottish football when Motherwell comes visiting to Almondvale Stadium. Terry Butcher brings his squad of diving, cheating, moaning players knowing fine well that his side should be playing in the Scottish first division.

Team News

Livingston's injury worries have been eased as Lee Makel managed to come through training today (Friday). It was thought that he only had a 50/50 chance of making the match against Murderwell but he has shaken off the injury and looks set to play against the mob from hell. Not so good news about Manu Dorado who is struggling after he tweaked his heel again in training. Marvin Andrews looks likely to play, despite Dundee United and Livingston still being in negotiations with each other regarding a fee for the Trinidad and Tobago international.

Stuart Lovell is out for another 4-5 weeks with a cartridge injury, Juanjo Camacho is still struggling with a shoulder injury and Cherif is made of chocolate and breaks easy, so he is in for 10 minutes each match, then out for 4-5 weeks after (any jobs Keane??.)

Motherwell have no major injury concerns, but I’m sure they’ll leave Almondvale hurting after the Livi mob hammer them and send them back to Giro Land on Saturday evening.

What to expect

Motherwell will be reeling after last weeks hammering at the hands of Dundee at Dens Park, and the players will want to make amends come Saturday. The obvious player to watch is James McFadden, but all you have to do is noise him up, and he’ll throw a punch, typical Glaswegian Ned.

Gordon Marshall is Murderwells new goalie signing from Kilmarnock during the close season and it will be difficult to beat such an experienced goalkeeper.

Livingston should win the match, we have to players to do it, but you the side is still trying to gel togherther, and hopefully they’ll show us what they are made of during this match.
