Capaletti aiming to impress

Livi trialist Javier Capaletti will head on the Lions mini-Highland tour in a bid to try and tempt new Livi manager Marcio Maximo into signing him. The Rosario Central defender will get the chance to impress against Ross County & Inverness on Saturday and Monday after he played in Wednesday’s closed-door meeting with Clyde, which ended in a 1-1 draw. Capaletti impressed Maximo and it looks as if he is going to be another foreign signing for the Lions.

But while Capaletti looks as if he is on his way in to Almondvale, the Lions have sent Spanish striker Nano home without a contract offer after a couple of weeks' training with the club.

Manager Davie Hay said: "Capaletti played in the game against Clyde and did okay "We'll have another look at him against Ross County or Inverness and we'll make a decision on him next week. "But Nano is away back to Spain. We decided he wasn't any better than what we have at the club but we wish him all the best."

Meanwhile, Livi new boy Guy Ipoua has said that says every goal he scores for the club will be a tribute to Marc Vivien Foe. The Cameroon international was signed by the Lions on Thursday and has admitted that Foe’s thoughts will always be on his mind.

Foe died following Cameroon's Confederation Cup semi-final against Columbia and Ipoua said: "What happened to Marco is something which will never be forgotten in Cameroon and will never go out of people's minds. "But life has to go on and all the players agreed that they would do well as a tribute to his memory. "It puts things into perspective, but you have to try to take motivation too — it will be my motivation to do well here. "If I can do well and score goals, then every time that happens I will think of Marco."

Ipoua has admitted that the main reason he signed for Livingston was the new manager and his reputation. He said “Maximo was responsible for coaching world-class players, such as Ronaldinho and Ronaldo, when they were youngsters and now Ipoua hopes his new boss can turn him into a better player.” "I would be lying to myself if I thought I was going to become like Ronaldo.

"But when I heard that Livingston were interested, I did my homework on the manager and found out about all the great players he had worked with. "As much as I had heard nice things about Livingston from my time in England and about them being in the Uefa Cup last season, Marcio was the factor in bringing me here. "I am sure he can make me a better player than I am now."
