Norrie
Lifelong Rangers fan Norrie Findlay yesterday stunned workmates with a surprising confession: he’d actually attended a league clash at Ibrox.

Norrie, 54, left startled colleagues coughing into their morning coffee at the amazing revelation.

The True Blue office worker, who describes himself as “a fan” of the Ibrox club, is not thought to have visited Ibrox in his life. Or even attended a football match before!

Fanatic

And yet, shortly after 9:30am yesterday morning, he confessed to attending the recent Rangers –Aberdeen match after his son provided a ticket for the game as a Birthday present.

Co-worker Richard Connor was aghast: “Normally he just watches the matches on the telly. Although, for some reason, he always misses the games when they get beat.”

Paul McKay added “He buys the jersey and all the Rangers crap, every year – but this is the first time I’ve heard of him actually going to a game! Any game! We’re all amazed, he must be the clubs biggest supporter now”

Findlay, who lives in Airdrie, was modest about his Ibrox trip, but insisted it was not his first visit.

“I went past the stadium on a bus years ago,” he revealed, confessing that he found the adjustment to live soccer very confusing.

He said: “It was difficult forcing myself not to stare at they huge video screens instead of looking at the big green thingummy wotsit – the pitch? Is that what it’s called?”

At this time, however, Norrie has no plans to repeat the live soccer experience.

“The traffic was murder!” he explained. “Next time it’ll be Setanta view for me!”

Glory hunter

An Ibrox spokesman expressed surprise that one of their loyal diehard lifelong fans was only watching Rangers play in the flesh for the first time in his life at the age of 54. The spokesman admitted the situation was very “strange” adding that “most of our lifelong fans started supporting us around 1996. He added "There will be an investigation.”
