A last minute goal from Burton O’Brien was enough to save Livi’s blushes when the managed to sneak a draw against the genetically modified crew at Almondvale on Saturday. Fernando Pasquinelli had more than enough chances to make his mark, and he should have found the target on numerous occasions, but the Livi striker saw all his efforts either just sneak past the post, or saved by Preece in the Aberdeen goal. Fernando should have found the back of the net in the ninetieth minute, but his shot was again saved by Preece, but this time Burton O’Brien, who had had a disappointing match up until this point, hammered the ball into the roof of the net and cancelled out Scott Booth’s 23rd minute strike.

Livi were lucky to snatch a point, but Livi manager Davie Hay admitted that the Dons were the better side, but only in the first half.

Hay said: "I though Aberdeen probably shaded the first half and deserved to take the lead when they did, but we came back and were much brighter after half-time.

"Aberdeen defended well and the goalkeeper made some great saves, but we kept putting them under pressure and eventually got the goal.

"We showed a lot of commitment and you have to do that in this league because there's not much between the teams and often it's the team who fights harder and shows the best attitude that gets the points.''
