Paul Lambert wants his reputation as a player put to one side now he has become manager of Livi.

The former Scotland international had an illustrious career with Celtic, but Lambert wants to make a new reputation with his ability off the pitch.

Livingston finished just two points clear of the drop zone last term and the Almondvale boss is keen to help his side make big strides next time around.

"I'm finished as a player," explained Lambert to Sky Sports News.

"I'm not one for harping on about what you've achieved in the game because it's about the guys going onto the pitch and they'll be the ones taking the credit.

"We'll be doing our utmost to help them, but regarding me as a player that finished this time last week.

"I don't want to harp on about what I've done in the game as it's boring.

"I had great time at Celtic without a shadow of a doubt. It's a fantastic club to have been part of but football moves on and I have to do my utmost at Livingston.

"If we can get this place up and running and go in there without any fear, that's the thing, then we've got a great chance."
