Livi call in Lawyers

We can also reveal that the Livingston's lawyers, Dundas and Wilson, have been asked to investigate possible cases of defamation against the club chief executive Vivian Kyles.

There is evidence that the player was actively pursuing 'business development' in Livingston. One source in the town told the Scotland on Sunday: "I know that he was working for the club in this (business development) role, because I attended a meeting with him."

Dundee sources say the club feels aggrieved at being accused of sour grapes when it was Dunfermline Athletic who first raised the issue on May 2, when chairman John Yorkston sent a newspaper cutting to the SPL in which mention was made of payment to Kachloul.

Dundee's directors feel they had no choice but to raise the complaint, as company law insists they do everything to maximise shareholder value. Relegation to the First Division, which club sources privately concede is virtually unavoidable, would cost Dundee in excess of £1.5m.
