Back to the final, Hibernian will be up for the match, they knocked both Celtic and Rangers out of the cup, so that shows you that they will be no walkover. The Lions have already beaten them twice this year, 2-0 at Easter Road, and 1-0 at Almondvale, but they were league matches, and they count for nothing when it comes to cup matches, form flies out the window when you play in the cup, especially when it’s the final.
So what happens if we win? Have you told your boss to give you the week off; I’m off on Monday with the option of a full year of celebrations if we do somehow manage to pull this off (I wish my wife would do that more). I know Fernandez would rather be at the potatodome playing for the three toothed smelly crew against the likes of Barcelona and so on, but he isn’t, and the little Spaniard better get used to it, as he has been totally useless in the past couple of matches. I cannot believe that he got the man of the match at the Aberdeen match; I bet the sponsors who gave him the man of the match were Celtic season ticket holders; there is no other explanation.
The line up should see McKenzie in goals, Rubio, Marvin and Dorado playing the in the usual back three with McAllister and McNamee being the effective wingbacks. Lovell should slot into midfield and I hope he is as hard as morning wood against his former employers. Lee Makel will join Lovell in the midfield, and so should Burton O’Brien. The forward line should see mega nuts man Derek Lilley partner David Fernandez, and these two can cause Hibernian major problems if they give their all.
If we do manage to win, great, lets get pie eyed, if we don’t, we’ll let’s still get pie eyed. Both sides have done remarkably well to get this far, and it’s a pity that there has to be a loser, lets just hope it’s the part time Hibs supporters who leave disappointed and not they gorgeous looking Livi faithful.
For the Hibs supporters who are going tomorrow (stolen from Tam Cowan):
Bobby Williamson’s the manager, they play in a green and white strip and their star player these days is young striker Derek Riordan.
That's just a little bit of helpful information for the majority of the 40,000 Hibs 'supporters' who'll be at Hampden tomorrow.
