Livingston V Dunfermline

Last updated : 29 April 2005 By Dov

If ever there was a bigger game in Livingston FC’s history, I’ve never seen it. The cup final was massive, but this game is one of the most important that Livingston Football Club will ever have. We’ve been to hell in back in the last year and a bit, some players have gone, some have stayed, and lets not forget the non-playing staff at Livingston, they still don’t know if they will still have a job come August, but a win tomorrow will boost our survival bid, and maybe go a long way to helping Livingston come out of Administration, and Lionheart taking control.

Davie Hay brings his poor Dunfermline side to Almondvale tomorrow, knowing fine well that relegation will see him being booted out the door by the Pars. Dunfermline Chairman John Yorkston has already declared the game at Almondvale more important that last season's Scottish Cup Final for the Pars, he knows that the Pars will be in soapy bubble if they are relegated to the first division.

The Pars have several players missing, Andy Tod, will miss out, as will Greg Shields and Barry Nicholson.

Livingston have no major injury worries to the match.

Livingston's poor home run has seen them win just 1 and draw 2 of the last six. While Livi have scored 6, a worringly large 11 have been leaked at the other end.

The away form of Dunfermline A. is pretty dire, collecting just 1 solitary point from the last six. Pars have conceded 16 goals in these games, and only hit 3 in reply.

Livingston find themselves stuck right at the bottom of the division. Their 34 games have yielded only 28 points. Dunfermline A. are hovering perilously just above the relegation zone, with 28 points from 34 matches.
