Livingston captain Stuart “Archie” Lovell is making progress and is back to training and he may make his long-awaited comeback at Hibernian next weekend.

Lovell (pictured) has been out since he damaged his knee again in a pre-season friendly defeat at the hands of Gretna.

However, Stuart played in the under 21 matches against Aberdeen and Dunfermline unscathed. He said: "I feel like I have made a lot of progress in the last fortnight."

Lovell knows he will overcome the psychological battle after many months on the sidelines through injury.

Lovell, who also missed most of last season, said: "I have come through two 90 minutes with the U21s, which is nice for psychological reasons as well as a fitness point of view.

"I am feeling upbeat and I should be available for the Hibs game."
