Marv thinks Whitmore will be a star

Big marvellous Marvin Andrews thinks that Livingston’s new star, Theodore Whitmore will only improve after his dazzling display against Fulham on Tuesday night.

Marv said "I've played against Whitmore for my country and he is a very, very good player. We have had a lot of battles in the past. "On the ball he is unbelievable. He is the Jamaican Russell Latapy.

"I do believe he's a player who can get Livingston going again. "When he has the ball at his feet you don't know what he is going to do next. He can pass, drive at people and go past defenders.

"His performance against Fulham was just a little taste of what we will see. Once he's fully fit he really is an unstoppable midfielder. "In Jamaica, everything comes through Whitmore. He is their playmaker and without him they are like nothing.

"I do think he will be able to cope with the demands of Scottish football. He played two years with Hull and the English Third Division is very hard.

"He will adapt to the game here very well although I don't know how he will cope with the weather. "My advice to him is to keep working hard and make sure you wear a pair of gloves on Saturdays!"

Marvin went on to add "It was a very good performance from the boys. They played really well and are looking forward to Saturday's game with Partick Thistle.

"It was a highly-competitive game and you could see that Fulham are a very technical team. "They are not as fully fit as they can be because they are two weeks away from the start of the Premiership season. But it was still a great show, although the result doesn't really matter. We are more focused on Partick Thistle."

Andrews was also raving about Pasquinelli, and thinks he could go on to be one of the best scorers in the SPL, maybe even our new Fernandez: "He scored two excellent goals. He might not have the skill of some strikers in Scotland but he has a tremendous work-rate.

"He is very strong, good in the air and he's got a great left foot. He's the kind of striker who will give you 110 per cent every week."

Andrews, has recently been linked with moves to Rangers and Dundee United, but Rangers manager Alex Mcleish dismissed the story as total nonsense, but I still think United will try and snatch Marv before the start of the season.

But when asked about leaving, Marv added:

"I have two more years here and am just focused on playing for Livingston."
