Former Glasgow Rangers legend Ally McCoist is set to swap his microphone for a start in coaching at CIS cup winners Livingston. After gaining a key coaching badge this summer, Super Ally is eager to return to the game with the , and his first choice is the West Lothian club.

McCoist told the Sunday Mail: "I've spoken to Livi manager, Allan Preston at Livingston, who's a great lad, and we are both keen to get something sorted out very soon."

Meanwhile, Livingston coach Allan Preston says that Scotland will be missing out if Burton O'Brien opts for South Africa.

Preston said:"It's unfortunate for Scotland that Burton looks to be heading towards playing for another country as he is a good player.

"He just hasn't been given a chance except at U21 level and if clearance comes through from FIFA to play for South Africa I wish him all the best."

ULTRAS VIEW…

Good on the Lions for trying to get Coisty in and raising the profile of our club a bit more, but it really pisses me off when I read about talent like O’Brien opting for another country when their country really needs them. It’s not O’Brien’s fault, he hasn’t had a chance with the Scots, so he’s right to opt for South Africa.
