McManus & Clark must be dealt with

Last updated : 28 March 2006 By Livingston Supporters

So what will it take before someone takes action? A leg break perhaps? A young players career cut short? Reverse the roles, young Brittain goes into a two footed tackle at Parkhead against Maloney, the crowd are all on they're feet baying for blood, Lennon and the other 10 Celtic players surround the referee, who WOULD already have shown the red card to Brittain and Livingston would be down to ten men, the papers would go daft, call Brittain reckless, he would get fined by Livi and he would get hammered (quite rightly) by the beaks Hampden.

So what's the difference? Kenny Clark's failure to issue a straight red card to McManus in yesterdays SPL tie at Livingston is nothing short of a disgrace and should be investigated by the authorities straight away. The way the referee handled the situation and the player involved was nothing short of amateur, and it just shows you what bias is shown to the east end of Glasgow club.

If you would have seen Alan Walker after the match, you would have seen him limping heavily, he probably couldn't believe that McManus got off so lightly after his two footed ninja assault that could have ended this young talented players career.

So what will be done? I'm very surprised and disappointed in the way Livingston FC has dealt with the situation. There should be a very strong written letter heading in the direction of Glasgow this week demanding and explanation of the referees action, after all, when Dorado slightly pulled Dublin's top and the Ashley Ainsley look-alike dropped like he'd just been shot by a sniper, the referee played by the rules and pointed to the spot, so why did he play by the rule and give Celtic a soft penalty and totally disregard the rule book when he issued McManus a yellow card?

That is a question Livingston FC and supporters like me and you should be asking this week, if they don't do it, the hoops will get away with it once again.

ACTION MUST BE TAKEN OR AS USUAL IT'LL BE SWEPT UNDER THE CARPET!
