As revealed by the Evening News last week, the SPL’s five-man board discussed the issue at a meeting on Thursday, and have asked club administrators Kroll for additional paperwork to support the motion.
Under SPL rules the club’s right to play in the top flight is held within Keane’s shareholding, hence the reason the club has technically remained in administration despite Flynn’s Lionheart Consortium gaining control of the club via a management agreement.
However, if passed, Kroll’s proposal would sanction the transfer of the club’s assets to a holding company which would be picked up by Flynn.
Former chairman Keane has clung on to his shares during an ongoing acrimonious dispute with the Bank of Scotland which forced the club into administration with debts of around £7.2 million in February.
