Players fed up with abuse from stands

On Friday evening, Richard Brittain was the studio guest on River FM's popular 'Livi Live' show, hosted by Liz Clark.

A late question emailed into the show asked if the players hear the abuse that sections of the support hurl down from the stands, and what he'd like to say to these 'so called' supporters.

He admitted that the he and the rest of the players do hear the obscenities shouted at them by fans and asked them to 'ease up on the abuse and try to support the team a bit more'.

While admitting that not all fans are inclined to shouts dogs abuse he intimated that the good work done by those who try to encourage the players is all but undone by the fans who appear more interested in unsettling the team than backing it.
