Preston can't wait for Hay's return

Livi boss Allan Preston is relishing the prospect of pitting his wits against one of his mentors when the Pars visit at Almondvale on Saturday afternoon.

Dunfermline gaffer Davie Hay makes his first return to Livingston since his departure in the summer when the Lionheart consortium took over the Lions.

Preston said: "I spoke to Davie during the week, as I regularly do, and I'm looking forward to seeing him back at the Lions Den. We're friends but, during the game, we'll be enemies and that's the way it should be."

He added: "The highest accolade I can pay Davie is that, along with Jim McLean at Dundee United, he's been the biggest influence in my career.

"They are two different characters but both have been successful.

"Jim was more volatile, while Davie is more laid back, but they both got great results and I learned a lot from them.

"I see myself as an equal with Davie in that I'm an SPL manager the same as him, but, if I achieve half of what he did in the game, then I'll be happy."
