Killie were looking for a victory to carry into an important run of home matches, but were left frustrated by the energy and commitment of Livi in a virtual re-run of their previous game against Hearts.

Kilmarnock started brightly, passing the ball well and oozing confidence. They came close in the seventh minute when Gary MacDonald was sent clear by Stevie Murray.

His cross was poor, but Livi keeper Roddy McKenzie surprisingly spilled it in the six-yard box. Colin Nish couldn't react and Emmanuel Dorado hacked clear.

Livingston packed the defence and smothered Killie's early confidence and looked dangerous on the break. David McNamee burst out of defence in the 41st minute and drifted past Freddy Dindeleux, but couldn't find a meaningful shot.

In contrast to the bright opening of the first half, Killie were sloppy at the re-start, giving away possession far too cheaply and paid the price in the 50th minute.

Fernando Pasquinelli was gifted the ball on the left and reached the by-line before looking up and cutting back to half-time substitute Juanjo Camacho who drilled his shot low past Francois Dubourdeau.

The home side re-grouped and Livingston were happy soak up the pressure. Killie lacked the spark and slickness to break down the Livi defence.

Jim Jefferies brought on Gary McSwegan as he changed to 4-2-4 and the substitute gave Kris Boyd an opening in the 80th minute with a simple pass.

However, the striker sliced his shot well wide. He had another chance almost immediately from Peter Canero's knock down, but Oscar Rubio defended well.

Livingston killed the game off a minute later as Pasquinelli calmly passed the ball into bottom corner after taking advantage of uncharacteristic slackness by Gordon Greer.

Burton O'Brien turned Greg Shields inside out in injury time and sent a fine shot inside Dubourdeau's far post to complete the home side's misery.
