Snodgrass playing for the under 19s
A stunning Robert Snodgrass strike clinched just a second league victory for Livingston as Pars boss Davie Hay suffered a miserable return to his former club, much to the delight of the Livi faithful.

Seventeen-year-old Snodgrass, making only his second start of the season, produced a superb all-action display and capped his Man of the Match performance with his side's second strike.

Snodgrass was picked out wide on the right of the Dunfermline area and coolly stepped inside Scott Wilson before curling a superb left-foot effort into the top corner beyond a despairing and full stretch Derek Stillie, a wonder goal that Wayne Rooney would be proud of.

Snodgrass' strike completed a miserable first half for Wilson who turned David McNamee's cross into his own net for the opener.

Snodgrass was lively from the outset and played his part in the opening goal after five minutes. His driving run was stopped illegally 30 yards out and, after Jason Dair played the free-kick right to McNamee, the Scotland cap showed a great turn of speed to make the byline before firing a hard low cross over that cannoned off the helpless Wilson and beyond Stillie.

Four minutes later Snodgrass struck a sweet 25-yard half-volley with his left foot that Stillie touched away for a corner at full stretch.

After 14 minutes McNamee made the byline again and his cross almost produced a second own goal but this time was deflected for a corner.

Dunfermline finally managed to threaten and Craig Brewster headed just wide and Scott Thomson fired a free-kick into the Livi wall as they picked up.

Only a superb Stillie double save denied Livi a second after 22 minutes. Burton O'Brien flighted in a free-kick from the right, Jim Hamilton rose above the visiting defence to connect with a header that Stillie just managed to beat out and then recover to deny Stuart Lovell with the follow-up.

Wilson's nightmare first half continued when he slipped trying to clear out of defence and Jim Hamilton nipped in, but the striker's attempted chip was easily held by Stillie.

O'Brien was then given far too much space in midfield to drive forward and fire a low left foot drive just wide of the post.

After Livi's sensational second in the 41st minute, Dunfermline came close before the interval with a Darren Young shot and a Brewster header that didn't trouble Roddy McKenzie too much.

Snodgrass almost added a third three minutes after the break but his shot from the right was deflected into the side netting.

In the 55th minute, Lovell broke free down the right before crossing for Hamilton, who just couldn't connect properly in a goalmouth scramble before Greg Shields finally cleared before breaking upfield and shooting well wide.

Simon Donnelly, virtually anonymous throughout, then flashed a header wide of the target and that was virtually his last contribution before being replaced by Andy Todd, a move that angered the 150 Dunfermline supporters.

Brewster fired wide and Young shot over as the Pars pressed for a consolation and came closest when Tod just failed to connect with a Tom Butler cross at the back post.

A Great victory for Livi, and lets hope they get stuck into Celtic next week.
